How to Boost Fertility + Prep Your Body for a Healthy Pregnancy
Jun 18, 2025
A common question I get in my DMs is:
“How can I boost fertility and support my body for a healthy pregnancy (Even if I'm not trying yet)?"
So I’m breaking it down — the top 5 things I recommend
And before we go any further…
Let me remind you: your fertility matters even if you don’t want a baby right now (or ever).
Here’s why, ovulation is what helps your body make progesterone — and progesterone isn’t just for pregnancy. It helps with:
- PMS + period pain
- Endo + PCOS symptoms
- Sleep
- Anxiety
- Bone health
- Mood balance
…just to name a few.
So whether you’re TTC or just want easier periods and better hormone health, these tips still apply.
1. I’d stop waiting until I was “ready” to prep for pregnancy
Here’s the thing: it takes about 100 days for a follicle to mature (that’s what releases your egg during ovulation). So if you wait until you’re ready to try… you’re already 3 months behind.
The habits you build today? They’re the ones that impact your cycle 3+ months from now.
So if you’re thinking about a baby sometime soon — or even just want your hormones to chill — the best time to start is now.
2. I’d give my body at least 3–6 months after coming off hormonal birth control
This one’s big, especially if you were on HBC for a while.
Birth control depletes key nutrients (think: B vitamins, zinc, magnesium), and can throw off gut health + hormone communication.
If you’ve got PCOS, endo, autoimmunity, or any post-pill symptoms like fatigue, acne, or hair loss — you’ll likely need some extra TLC.
I’m not saying you can’t get pregnant right away. But I want you to understand how the pill works, how it affects your body, and give yourself space to fully recover.
3. I’d get consistent with the basics — every single day
Fertility isn’t about taking a bunch of supplements or buying a fancy protocol.
It’s about what you do daily to help your body feel safe, nourished, and supported.
These are the things I come back to over and over again:
- Daily movement + sunshine
- 3+ balanced meals with 30–40g protein
- Drinking water with minerals
- Eating color, fiber, and pooping daily 💩
- Managing stress (even just 10 mins a day)
- Prioritizing quality sleep
- Reducing exposure to environmental toxins
The little things are the big things. Do them often enough and they add up big time.
4. I’d ditch the crash diets + make sure I was actually eating enough
If your goal is pregnancy — but you’re also trying to get super lean or “shredded” — your body might be getting mixed messages.
Dieting is a stressor. And a stressed body isn’t likely to ovulate regularly or support conception.
Especially after coming off the pill, your body needs to feel safe, nourished, and fed. So if you’re undereating or skipping meals, that might be the first thing to shift.
Get clear on your most important goal right now. Then eat like that goal matters.
5. I’d stop thinking a prenatal alone is enough
Yes, a good prenatal is important. But supporting fertility goes way beyond that.
Your body thrives when it’s getting:
- Enough nutrients
- Stable blood sugar
- Regulated hormones
- Gut health support
- Less stress + inflammation
Think of it like this: fertility is about creating a space inside your body that feels safe + supported. Not just “fertile,” but well. When you focus on that, Conception and healthy pregnancy are way more likely.
Fertility isn’t just about making a baby.
It’s about how your body functions and feels on the daily.
